Craft of the Day

So starting today I will be posting a Craft of the Day. Today I will be finishing up my project that I was doing over the weekend, and I would have had done but those muffins stole my afternoon yesterday.

So craft of the day is three blankets with the child's first initial. One is done and onto the last two. These are gifts for a friend of mine but also I will be using there photos for my mock ups for my Esty Store. That will be a future post. So here is one done on the front but needs to back done I folded them to take the picture easier they open up to 36in x 35in. Are you doing any crafts today?

Flowers Make A Girls Day.

So to be fair I did buy these myself, but I look over and see these lilies in full bloom and just think they are so pretty and they make my day. :)

Muffins Muffins and More Muffins

I had bought some blueberries last week while they were on sale. No one seemed to care that we had a ton in the fridge to be eaten and so they got left behind. Poor berries, but no fear little berries I will bake six dozen or more muffins out of you. This is my first three batches and I need to run up to the store for more eggs and milk. They are yummy and made with whole wheat flour and I added the berries to round out what I needed the recipe for. If you make some let me know what you think.

Hair Cuts, Sewing and Shrimp

Today my daughter and I got haircuts from my cousin. We both took off three and a half inches combined. It's a lot but it was needed. We are haircut  boy cotters. What can I say. We did a little shopping and I found a nice dark blue sweater that had a hole in the sleeve from a popped seam. I got two dollars off the already low price of 5.99, brought it home and threw it under my sewing machine and it is as good as new.

Then I was onto a taggie blanket and three blankets for a friend of mine kids. She had her third baby and it didn't seam fair I make one blanket for the baby but didn't make anything for the other two when they were babies so all three kids get blanket with the first initial on the back. Super easy and fun. Best part is I can use them as my models for my new Esty Store. Then onto shrimp.

I sewed so much I didn't leave to much time for a big dinner. So cooked shrimp was already in the freezer plus I had made some sauce a week or so again that was way to much for what I needed at the time. I froze what I didn't need and this is a blessing tonight. All I have to do is cook the pasta, thaw the shrimp and sauce and dinner is done. Never had it before so I hope the kids eat it. This will wrap up my day. Hope your was great.

My Sign Adventure

So I found this tutorial online for a cheap way to make what looks like vintage subway signs. It looked easy and something I could do. I didn't want a bunch of words; I just wanted my last name with established 2002 on it. Easy right? Wrong. Hahaha I laugh at myself now. I went around and around how I could make the letter stick to the board without having a vinyl cutter. So I thought vinyl shelf paper would work if I used tacky spray adhesive to glue to letters onto the shelf paper. I hope your following this. :) So that part worked great and my husband was even kind enough to hand cut out my letter with a little tiny blade. (I need a cricut) So I have it all ready to go onto the board and bamm I am stopped dead in my tracks. The back isn’t sticky enough to stay down on the board. I can’t paint over it if the silly thing won’t stay down. So I jumped on facebook begging for someone I know to have a cricut or silhouette machine. My friend Jennifer came to my rescue, and I went and bought the vinyl paper from cricut (A little more than I wanted to pay) and it worked beautifully. The fonts that thing can do were amazing. I could go on for about an hour on what that little thing can do. So I had what I needed and the vinyl was even repositionable so that was so helpful when placing my letters on the board. I used a flour scrapper from my kitchen to make sure all bubbles were out sprayed it with four coats of black paint. Peeled the vinyl stickers off and this is what I have.

The first post.

I want a place where I can write. Write about anything I want from my life, to my kids, about my work, or the adventures of everyday. I don't want to walk though this life and not remember the footprints I made and left. To have them be washed away without a permanent stamp that I can look back on and remember. So this blog is just that. I hope it growes into something beautiful that not only I love but many love to come and share this walk with me.
